Welcome to the Christian Enclave!

Childrens Christian Videos, Games and Software

Christian Enclave KJV Bible studyLester Roloff, in his radio broadcasts, would use a variation of The Lord's Prayer by saying "...Thy will be done on this piece of Earth, as it is in Heaven." While we cannot change the world, we can change that small part of the world where we live and work and worship and witness.

Think in terms of living in an enclave of Bible-Believing Christians surrounded by the rotting corpse of the world. The scriptural inspiration for the name, and the concept behind it, is found in Judges 14:8. "...and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion." This picture of the church as existing within the rotting corpse of a lion is, in effect, a Christian Enclave.

This web site is intended to be an on-line community of Bible-Believers who may or may not have a good local church to be part of. We want to be a resource for practical advice and tips on putting what The Bible says into practice in daily life.

Who are we? This web site is a personal ministry of Stephen C. McGehee. If you find something here that you don't like or disagree with or are offended by, then I take full personal responsibility for it. The content is written by a variety of Christian writers, some of whom worship at or are somehow associated with The Bible Baptist Church of DeLand. This is the church founded by James W. Knox in 1987.

A bit more about this site - all scripture quoted here is from the Authorized King James Version Bible of 1611, usually just abbreviated as KJV. The history of The Bible is far beyond the scope of this web site, so we'll just point out that the KJV is the literal, inerrant word of God for the English-speaking people of the world. You can find more information at jamesknox.com. Anyway, if you're intrested Christian Books is giving away a free Bible (KJV)

While much of this site is written for families, you will also find plenty here for single men and single women; after all, it wouldn't make much sense for me to exclude myself, would it? The Christian Enclave is really a Christian family. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we share a bond that is every bit as strong as the bonds of a blood family.

We hope you enjoy your visit here and will come back often!

A Guided Tour through the Christian Enclave

Let's take a quick look at the different sections of the Christian Enclave to see what's here:

Home Schooling - If you wanted to describe what a Christian Enclave is all about, few things would illustrate it better than home schooling your children. We begin with Linda Schrock Taylor, who has been a friend of mine for about 5 years - even though we've never met in person. She is a regular columnist at LewRockwell.com where she writes on education issues. You'll find tips and resources for Christian homeschooling, and the basics of how to get started.

KJV Bible Study (also check out Disciples' institute of Bible Study) - This is set up as a correspondence course that takes you through the basics of what God says about being a Christian, not what Man says. This course has been used by over 10,000 people around the world. Lessons are in Adobe PDF format and are in English, Spanish, and Telugu languages.

The Road to Sierra Leone - Stephen and Laura Holt take you along on their journey from a couple living in New England, to Bible School in DeLand, FL, and then to the mission field in the war-torn West African nation of Sierra Leone. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a missionary, this is the place to go.

Living With Chronic Illness - Laura Holt tells about her own experience with serious, long term illness and how God showed her some important lessons through that time of testing and training. This section is geared toward women.

On Tract - Dennis and Donna Gunning have been passing out Gospel tracts for a long, long time. They will be sharing stories about what they've seen happen, testimony that souls are saved by means of what some dismiss as "comic books on cheap paper," and tips on creative ways to distribute tracts.

Women's Bible Study - This is the Holy Women book written by James W. Knox. It is available here in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. This link takes you directly to that section of the jamesknox.com web site.

Crystal Paine - Crystal is the author of The Merchant Maiden: Earning an Income Without Compromising Convictions and co-author (with her husband, Jesse) of HomeGrown Business: How to Start and Run a Successful Home Business While Homeschooling. This section covers a wide range of topics, mostly of interest to women. Crystal's web site is Biblical Womanhood, Encouraging and Equipping Women and Young Women for the Glory of God.

From The American View - These essays are selected from The American View web site as the ones that most closely apply to the Christian Enclave. The American View is an outgrowth of Michael A. Peroutka's 2004 Presidential campaign. You'll find that no matter where your political leanings are, you're sure to find thought-provoking commentary here.

Links Page - A seemingly standard part of just about every web site, these are links that fit the criteria of our links policy.

About Christian Enclave - This is the who, what, when, where, why, and how of this web site. It includes the links policy and copyright information.

Things We're Looking For

• Your favorite Christian Bloggers
Do you know of a Christian web log (Blog) that deals with the practical side of living life according to God's word? We're not looking for preaching or doctrine, but rather those who write about living the Christian life. If so, please send an email and let us know. If it looks like a good fit, we'll invite the writer to have a regular column here on ChristianEnclave.com.
